According to a report, Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Chris Pronger says that his knee injury will not be healed in time for training camp next month. Viel wichtiger und interessanter für mich wäre allerdings eine Antwort auf die Frage warum sich Pronger erst so spät (in der Off Season) behandeln lies, wenn die Verletzung schon im April passierte. Man hätte locker im Juni vor seinem Urlaub die Sache behandeln können...
Da steht doch nur, dass ein OP erfolgt ist. Wann steht da nicht... Und wenn das Knie dick geschwollen ist, kann es Wochen dauern, bis es überhaupt OP-reif ist...

Die Geschichte über die erfolgreiche OP gab es etwa vor 2-3 Wochen. In ihr hieß es, dass die "gerade überstandene OP gut verlaufen ist". Die OP war also irgendwann Ende Juli. Kann ein Knie 5 Wochen geschwollen sein? Sicherlich schon, aber die Frage ist: Lässt man es 5 Wochen geschwollen sein? Medizinisch kann man dem Abschwellen soch sicherlich nachhelfen...?

Was auch sein kann, ist, dass man es erst ohne OP versuchen wollte, man dann aber nicht drumrum kam.
Ich glaube nicht, dass Pronger bzw. der medizinische Stab von Philly so unprofessionell sind, dass sie die OP nach hinten geschoben haben, obwohl sie möglich war - wir sind hier nicht in der DEL.
War bei Sturms letzter (nicht der aktuellen) Knieverletzung auch so, dass man zunächst warten musste, bis die Schwellung abgeklungen war, bevor man operieren konnte - das war auch ne Sache von mehreren Wochen.

Slow news day (Pronger update): VOORHEES, N.J. -- Flyers defenceman Chris Pronger said there is no timetable to start skating following minor surgery on his right knee earlier this month.
Pronger did not say Tuesday if he would be ready during training camp or by the start of the season in October. Pronger said he's in "no hurry" to return and wants to make sure the leg has regained its strength and has complete range of motion before hitting the ice.
He was injured in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against Boston. The Flyers lost to Chicago in the Stanley Cup final.
Pronger averaged nearly 26 minutes on the ice during the regular season, fifth best in the league. He played a league-leading 29 minutes per game in the playoffs.

Dabei besteht die gefahr das man bei dem eingriff Bakterien oder Keime "einzuschleppen"! Das Thema habe ich letztes Jahr auch schön durchgemacht! Bei meiner Schwelung hat es ewig gedauert. Dazu kommt das wenn ich heute etwas länger laufe, mein Knie direkt wieder dick wird!
